Description

Chemical peel is a non-surgical treatment for cleaning the skin by applying special acids to remove its surface layer and allow renewal with new cells.

Chemical Peel

Facts

  • No anesthesia required
  • Outpatient procedure
  • Procedure lasts 30 minutes
  • No recovery time

Skin is made up of cells that are formed in a deep skin layer and grow toward the surface of the skin.

Special acids can exfoliate dead cells and peel away the most top layer of the skin. Procedure is suitable for sun-damaged skin, small wrinkles and pigments. The skin then looks younger (rejuvenation).

Peeling is applied as a solution in the form of a facial mask and is thoroughly washed after application. By removing dead cells, regeneration of the skin is enabled and the overall rejuvenation effect occurs (skin colour and texture is also improved).

You can feel small tingling during application.

Different types of acids are currently used. According to the type, we distinguish their effect into light, medium and deep chemical peel.

  • Light and medium peel acids:

Glycol (AHA) peel - glycolic, lactic or fruit acids, good for superficial chemical peeling.

Trichloracetic (TCA) acid peel - medium chemical peeling, reduced bleaching effect.

  • Deep peel acid:

Phenol peel - suitable for deep chemical peeling (deep wrinkles, unequal skin pigments and texture, sun-damage), bleaching effect.

It is important to avoid exposure to the sun immediately after the chemical peel procedure, because the skin is very delicate and the pigment may become discolored.

The effect is immediate, but the skin needs 1-2 weeks to fully recover, the procedure can be repeated after 2 weeks, mostly in a total of 5 sessions (depends on the type of chemical peeling acid) and the effect lasts for 1 year.
